Workshops

Arduinos for Artists

Coming soon!

Learn the basic principles of the Arduino family microcontrollers, and how to use them to add lights, motion, and interactivity to your art projects. Ardunios are small, single-purpose computers that support direct connections to sensors and electrical devices like lights — small, cheap, battery powered, and easy to wire and program.

In this introductory hands-on workshop, participants will:

  • Learn how to write programs and upload them to the Arduino
  • Learn how to use Arduino to control external devices like LEDs, motors, household electronics
  • Learn how to connect sensors to detect light, motion, or other environmental conditions
  • Learn about specialized Arudino hardware: wearables, WiFi or Bluetooth networked, etc.

Participants will need to have their own laptop computer capable of running a standard web browser.
